Great news in the latest Budget...
The Australian Government has introduced 10 additional Medicare sessions for all Australians due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Service availability is as follows:
Additional Better Access face-to-face services (to a total of 20 in a calendar year) are available until 30 June 2022.
Additional Better Access telehealth services (to a total of 20 in a calendar year) are available until 31 March 2021.
This is great news and will help a lot of people. GPs are able to provide referrals for sessions 11-20 under a mental health care plan from October 2020.
